LaP and I went to House of Blues Monday night. You can read her blog about it here.
It was Roger Creager's annual Christmas Songwriter's Showcase. Max Stalling, one of my fav singer/songwriters was part of the 1st act. Max is just a real sweetheart. He comes out in the crowd and TALKS to his fans. He doesn't just wave or shake hands, he actually asks about you, and seems genuinely interested in your answers. He also has an amazingly humble attitude when complimented on his set.
The first time I saw him, I was at the bar at Dan's Silverleaf getting a drink. He was standing there and I asked about the ring on his right hand. Turns out he's a DOUBLE Aggie! I mentioned I was there with my Mother for her Birthday and he asked her name. Later, during the show, he gave Mother [and me] a shout out from the stage, mentioning the hats we were wearing so folks would know who the b'day girl was! I was touched and became an even more ardent fan since then.
But the highlight of the evening was getting to spend time with LaP. She is an awesome woman. If you're not already reading her blog, follow the link above or the link in the sidebar to Phlegm Fatale.

Friends and family make life worth living.
Gosh, I'm WOEFULLY backlogged on blogrounds. That was a whole two weeks ago! It was SO much fun. I wish we were going to see Robert Earl Keen at HOB tonight, but I don't know if I would have been up for it, anyhoo. *HUGS*
Thanks for being such a good friend, Hols. YOu are so very dear to me. :)
