It's Wednesday, You Know What That Means...

hie thee over to Sparrow's and enter your haiku in the contest. As usual the finalists are announced on Thursday [be sure to check back and vote for your favorite] and the voting commences. Then the Winner is announced on Friday. The Winner not only has the honor of taking first place, s/he gets to name the recipient of a member serving in harm's way of a Deluxe Care Package. If you don't know someone serving...Sparrow will pick someone for you, OR you can go to AnySoldier.com, or Any Marine, etc. Once there, you can register and choose a recipient based on gender, where they are serving, what State they are from, etc.

Don't be intimidated by the term "Haiku". A Haiku is a poem, not rhyming, that is comprised of three lines. The first line has 5 syllables. The second line has 7 syllables. And the 3rd line has 5 syllables. Classic Japanese Haiku make some mention of a season, but the ones at Sparrow's rarely make that reference.

You can do that. This week's subject is "Regrets". Who among us has no regrets? Having attained a certain number of years, I believe it's impossible to have lived a full and interesting life without making at least a few mis-steps, a certain number of actions or statements you'd like to have a "Do-Over" on.

I was reading Marko, the Munchkin Wrangler, last week and he linked to a blogger who is running her DOG for President! If you are still undecided, or simply disgusted with the crop of candidates, as I am, check out Rachel Lucas and her Ridgeback, Sunny. Order a Campaign Button, get on the Bandwagon! Vote for a REAL Bitch, not a two legged one!

Sunny even has an evil opponent, Kitteh! I have NO idea who writes that blog. But it is spot on for every cat I have ever known. Need I say that under Sunny's administration, Kitteh, and his ilk will be dealt with in an appropriate manner. Don't get me wrong, I LIKE cats. I just can't eat a whole one by myself. [It's a joke! Untwist your panties, all you feline-o-philes!]

So that's what I've got this early in the morning. I gotta go write for money now. About Fluevogs and Crocs. Talk about a labor of love! Oh MYYYYY!

I counted, your syllables were correct.
I left two comments for you at Sparrow's. One on Wednesday with the entries and one today. GO read.

Glad you liked Sunny. If I order buttons I'll give you one. I checked my site meter last night and I know at least 3 folks [one from Houston] went to Kitteh's page from here.
