haven't I? I was surprised when I noticed that I haven't posted since Thursday! I thought I'd written somethin' on Friday, but I guess I got distracted.
I'm gonna blame the rain. I get depressed when it's rainy and we've had rain for 6 of the last 8 weeks. I put the top down, I put it back up. I lower it, I raise it. And this is EVERY, freakin' day!
PLUS, I didn't get my pins out Thursday. Went to the Doc, he took pics, but said he likes to leave 'em in for THREE weeks. He just wanted me to come in for a check, to make sure I was healin' OK.
Since we had both been too concerned with the broken pinky on my original visit to think to have him check the Middle and Ring finger, I had him look at them. Neither of them would bend all the way down like the ones on my Right hand do. Normally, the pad of the finger will touch the base of the finger, that's how supple (?) they are. He said something about some kind of plates and some kind of joints and then proceeded to force each of them, in turn, into the position I just described. While he was doing this, my considerable a$$ rose a good 6" off the seat of the chair and strange noises emanated from my throat. He said, "See, they've been sore, so you haven't wanted to move them and they've gotten stiff. So you haven't wanted to move them and they've gotten stiffer. Now you keep moving them into this position, with your other hand until they will do it on their own." Even though it hurts like a GREAT Big Dawg has them in a vise grip, I've been doing it a LOT. And it's gettin' easier. I can do it on my own, now.
He also said I need to be MOVING the pins around so I can be cleanin' around the base of them. "Well, why didn't you tell me THAT in the post-op directions? I figured moving them was a BAD thing since it hurt!"
So, Wednesday he's gonna "Pull the Pins". Back on the post where I put up the pics of them, LaPhlegm had commented that she'd pay me to let HER pull them. Well, if she'll come up and go to the Doc with me...He might could be persuaded to let her pull the last one. And I'll only charge her a Frozen Mango Daiquiri afterwards. What do you say, LaP, is it a deal?

You may find it easier to work those fingers in the heat of the shower. Worth a shot, anyhow. :)
omg omg omg omg!!!!
WHEEEEE!
Let me know what time - I'll do my damnedest to be there.
OMG!
When they pulled the pins out of my left thumb they took a cordless drill and chucked the pins up and just hit the trigger and out they were in about 10 seconds. I was swearing that I smelled burning flesh and bone, but the Dr told me everyone says that. When they did mine they didn't numb them or anything so I felt it all. all I can say is my Tae Kwon Do breathing exercise made it a lot more bearable. Now that I've scared the dickens out of you, it really didn't hurt that bad it was mostly psychological, there was discomfort and a bit of pain but not super major stuff.
Mark
I'll come and hold your other hand, Holly. I feel bad for you. I hope you get better quick as we have a mission to do at Flo's house, remember? LOL
Mark, you're just a little ray of Sunshine this mornin' aren't you? ;) AS I said before, if my dtr. could tough it out when she was 11; I figure I can be brave now, as a grown-up.
Lainy, we'll have to have a 'Rita together @ Flo's to commisserate, while we're searchin' for those incriminatin' pics.
LaP, you better be there Wed. You'll never get a better offer than this!
Hey, I have an idea! I have a cordless drill!! How's about you bring Phlegm with you, then she, Lainy, and Nurse Ratchet can each take one out! Then margaritas all around. Served by the guys, of course.
I dunno what incriminatin' pics you're talkin' about, either.
