Housekeeping, gettin' some things out of my head

I have to tell y'all about an Associated Press story I read this morning.
Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr. { I cannot believe two men were burdened with that horrid first name!} AKA, Snoop Dogg; AKA Snoop Doggy Dogg was denied a visa to enter Australia due to his criminal history.
Kevin Andrews, the Aussie Immigration Minister told a Sydney Macquarie Radio reporter, " He doesn't seem the sort of bloke we want in this country."
Well, Kevin, some of us don't want him here, either, but we're stuck with him!

Last month, he was denied entry to Britain. Their Home Office was evidently concerned he and his "homies" might pitch another hissy fit similar to the one that got them thrown in gaol back in April '06. Maybe if their pants weren't hangin' down past their butt cheeks and they weren't swearin' fit to make drunk Marines blush they would have been allowed into that British Airways First Class lounge. Then they could have avoided all that unpleasant detainment and arrest business.

Now, onto one of my favorite pastimes...the Site Meter findings!
At shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday I had my 8,000th visitor! Kinder, LA if you are who I think you are, send me an email with your snail mail and I'll send you a batch of my Reese's Cup Cookies. For those of you who've never heard of these delights... It's a Peanut butter cookie with a mini Reese's cup in the middle. A batch is 4 to 6 dzn.

Tangent Alert
I'm making 12 dzn tomorrow. 6 dozen are for my Tall Son. He's coming home this weekend for a Belated Birthday celebration. And for Arts and Jazz Festival. The other 6 dozen are going to my "Older" Cousin serving in Iraq. He went for his first tour in '04, came home in '05. Then he went back in '06. Now with the extension of tours from 12 to 15 months he won't be home until '08. That means he will have been there in '04, '05, '06, '07 and '08. He will be home for his mid-tour this summer. I plan to see him then. BTW, when I call him my "Older" cousin, he was born in April, and then I came along in June. It's just a little joke now that we're in our 50's.

OK, back to Site Meter Stuff...
Behr America? Is that connected to Behr Paint? I used Behr paint when the Dearly Beloved and I bought our house. The previous owners had painted the LR, Kitchen, hall, and hall bath TAN . Can y'all imagine cookin' in a tan kitchen? It was like bein' in a cave, shudder. Now our LR and hall are a lovely oyster white with just a touch of gray. The kitchen is a pale, pale green. The Master and guest BR are lavender. And the hall bath is a sand beige. And it's all Behr paint. So IF, Behr America is the Parent company of Behr...you can thank me for the plug.

And to my Reader in Winston-Salem, I've been using your competitor's product for about 10 years now; ever since Marlboro Mediums hit the market. Well, since I became aware of them anyway. However, if I was to receive some coupons for some comparable R.J. Reynolds product....who's to say I might not make a switch in brand loyalty?

Now before all you Nicotine Nazis and health care readers jump my case...let me say two things: First, I've tried the patch, Nicotrol inhalers, and Chantix. Nothing worked on my cravings. Second, I have inherited a gene for a type of cancer that will probably kick in sometime in the next 10 or 15 years. It's treatable, and being forewarned is forearmed. I get checked every 5 years, which is the standard for my age. I'm clean so far, Thank the Good Lord. But if anything is gonna kill me THAT will, not lung cancer.

I really am a woman of simple pleasures. Reviewing my Site Meter results just gives me such a thrill. Seeing readers dropping in regularly from all over the country is fun. But seeing new readers from distant lands is a thrill all it's own. And I just am blown away by some of the search terms the pervert use. Who knew there were so many bum and tushy fetishists out there? You'd think, having worked with Sex Offenders, I would know this already, but I guess I've been out of the game too long.

AS I mentioned above, Tall Son is comin' home this weekend. And it's Arts and Jazz Fest weekend, too. Don't expect any posts this weekend from little ole me, I plan on being way too busy havin' FUN in the Outdoors to be in front of the 'puter.

And the Troll? I thank all of y'all for your support and help in keepin' my house a fun and interesting place to visit. But I think we've given this "creature" enough of our attention, don't y'all. Any further insulting, derisive, self-pitying comments from said troll will be deleted upon my detection. I normally hate censorship and I enjoy a "lively" discussion. But I will not tolerate stupidity in my house. I hope y'all understand.

Have a fantastic weekend.
