A Dismal Score and A Rationalization

You paid attention during 80% of high school!

68-84% Pretty good, you know that there are libraries and newspapers, and you remember what you've read. You were a child that wasn't left behind!

Do you deserve your high school diploma?

I have an excuse. I graduated from my High School in 1973!!!

Now, that was a long time ago and there's been a veritable OCEAN of water that's flowed under a multiciplicity of bridges I've burned behind me. I graduated from a University with a BSW, raising two children, keeping house, and working part-time and STILL had a GPA of 3.75. That was in 1986. In 1993, I think, I took the GRE and I scored pretty well considering I didn't prep, had 6 hours sleep, and had to drive 1.5 hours to take the test. I got a 690 on verbal; a 580 on the "logic" part what's that called Qualitative?; and a 520 on Quantitative or Math, and considering I only had stats in college and beofre that my last math type class was 2nd year Algebra as a Junior in High School{ which was 1971-1972}, I don't think that was too bad.

And yet, I feel compelled to validate my intelligence by telling y'all all this b/c I only retained 80% of my high school learning from 33 years ago, according to a silly internet test made up by someone whose qualifications for creating that test are unknown to me. JEEZ! What does that say about my self-esteem? That's a rhetorical question, I'm not really asking for your reassurance. And I don't have to know your score if you take the test. I just thought it would make a fun Sunday diversion.

I have my own theory on learning and retention, though. Wanna hear it? I think younger people score better, since the information is fresher in their minds. But only if they did well in high school in the first place. People who USE their education on a daily basis also score higher than those of us who are retired or unemployed. Students score better because they are still in a learning environment and their brains are being constantly stimulated. Just my humble opinings.

Now, go read the funnies and do the crossword puzzle!

85-100% You must be an autodidact, because American high schools don't get scores that high! Good show, old chap!

Thank you for scoring highly on this quiz, there is sweet hope for the future. If you did not score high, please join the Volunteer for Human Extinction Movement.

ROFLMBO, now where are the damn answers????
