Light Posting for a Few Days

I was at "Dog Days of Summer" yesterday, got my hand tangled in one of the leashes, and now I have at least one broken finger and two injured ones on my left hand. My DOMINANT hand. There's no deformity or dislocation or crepitus, I just can't move the little finger w/o extreme pain.

I'm using the recommended ICE techniques: Ice; Compression, Elevation. Luckily I had some Celebrex on hand from my last back injury, so I'm taking that to help w/the swelling. Any opinions from my "medical" readers as to the efficacy of this -vs- ibuprofen will be listened to. I'll be calling the Doc first thing in the AM cause there's some swelling in the joint at the base of my hand at the little finger. Plus the whole hand hurts like a BIG DOG has a hold of it!

I called my "little" Bro, the Trainer/Rehab at TAMU y'day...told him what had happened, what I was doing, he said as long as there wasn't any deformity, there wasn't anything else I could do, or that the ER could do, except X-Rays. And since I've got them immobilized, I can wait until Monday and the Doc's office for X-rays. It's nice that he's so smart about injuries! And tells me what I wanted to hear.

Last night I did change one element of my approach, though. I took off the tape and put on my Shooter's glove. It's the PAST brand, black leather, half fingered variety. It gives support to the injured areas, keeps me from moving them, but with the mesh on the back of the hand allows my skin to breathe. I can also take it off and put it on by myself.

Since I'm not a touch typist, I'm down to typing w/one hand and one finger. And if I get some good pain-killers tomorrow, i probably won't post for a few days. Y'all try to cope, mkay?
